Talking about today's blog episode! Why did I choose to talk about today's blog episode? What is this week's song of the week? Why did I choose this song for the week?
For today's blog episode, I will be analyzing the song "Painting in the rain" by Todrick Hall, blog by Brandee Marie Darden! In this blog episode, I will be talking about when I listen to this song and I think about the meaning of the lyrics, what comes to my mind? Why does it come to mind like that? How can I relate to this song to my life? Why can I relate to this song in my life? What lyrics stood out to me? Why did those lyrics stood out to me? Why did I choose to talk about today's blog episode? The reason why I choose to talk about today's blog episode is because this song has a special meaning to me and I love how soft it is!! What is this week's song of the week? For this week's song of the week, I chose "Painting in the rain" by Todrick Hall! When I listen to this song, I think about the lyric "Right foot lifted, left foot chained" and when I think about that lyric, I think about when I thought I was free, but in my head, I wasn't and it is hard with dealing with something or someone who wants to give you trouble! Why do I choose this song for the week? I choose this song for the week is because it has a powerful message and if you listen to it, you will understand why I love this song and you will understand why it means a lot to me!!
Talking about the lyrics!! In my opinion, what's the meaning behind the lyrics? Why is there meaning behind the lyrics?
"Painting in the rain" by Todrick Hall came out in 2018 on a album called "Forbidden". When I listen to this song and looked at the lyrics, I think about the struggles that I have faced and here is how the lyrics go: "Sticks and stones
Hurt harder when you know their thrown
From no farther than your own sweet home
And you fall flat on the welcome mat
You won't be welcomed at
Walk that line
There's no when you gotta choose a side
There's no grey there's only black and white
And it just ain't right
If we fight that just like
Painting in the rain
Walking in slow motion trying to catch a moving train
Why we overdosin' just dull a little pain
Joining the parade just march the other way
It's like painting in the rain
Fighting for a difference but we never wanna change
Right foot lifted, left foot chained
Eyes wide opened but denying what we
See, we might as well out painting in the
Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain 2X
Paint the sky, with dark words
It's either do or die
To be heard you're gonna risk your life
And if the walls don't crumble down and fall
You might just lose it all
Walk away
There's no danger when you play it safe
There's no danger if you just behave
But if we don't fight for our rights". What is the meaning behind the lyrics? The meaning behind the lyrics is when you are trying to fight your life, you one foot chained, but the other one is free but you're thinking to yourself "how am I supposed to fight for my life when one foot is chained and the other one is not"? You want to fight for a difference but you don't want to change! How are you suppose fight for a difference when you don't to change? It doesn't make sense!! Why is there meaning behind the lyrics? The reas0n why there is meaning behind the lyrics is because when you try to play it safe, there might be danger involve but when you behave, there is no danger at all! Just be careful how you handle life and how you do it because life is tricky!!
What comes to my mind?
When I listen to this song and I think about the meaning of the lyrics, what comes to my mind? When I listen to this song and I think about the meaning of the lyrics, I think about the moments of my life! There might be times where I feel like one of my feet is chained but my other is free which is hard to explain! Sometimes, I feel like something is holding back but at times, I feel like something is holding back and I should never let that thing hold me back! We should never fight in the rain! Why are we fighting when it will cause danger? Let's not fight! Fighting in the rain will cause you to slip in the mud! I am just saying!!! The song is such a powerful song and it has a powerful message to it!
Why?
Why does it come to mind like that? The reason why it came to my mind like that is because sometimes, when you feel like your trapped but then, you have one foot free but you have to stay in place, it can be a difficult thing because you have one foot that is free but then, you have one that is chained and you don't know what to do but stand there! You don't want to cause any trouble because you want everything to be okay! We shouldn't be misbehaving and causing trouble because being in trouble is not fun at all! Be careful what you do in life because whatever you do in life, it can cause trouble and people might want to fight you, so be careful! Don't fight and cause trouble!
How?
How can I relate to this song to my life? Well, the way I can relate to this song in my life is where I had one foot chained but the foot wasn't chained! I had moments where I had things hold me back in life but when I broke that chain, it felt nice to be let go and be free! I had moments where I couldn't stand up for myself because I felt trapped but now, I can stand up for myself all day! There are moments where I wish I could change certain things but how can I when I don't want to change it! I need to fight for my rights and move to the right direction! I can't stand there and let it resolve it by itself! I should start a change and not let anything or anyone hold me back! Don't let things hold you back!
Why?
Why can I relate to this song in my life? The reason why I could relate to this song in my life is because before, I couldn't stand up for myself and I had no voice to speak when I tried to stand up for myself and I was chained when I felt like something was holding me back! When I try to say something, it felt like someone would throw sticks and stones (not literally, but figuratively). I had people hurt me to the point where I couldn't stand up to myself but now, I am not afraid to stand up for who I am and what I believe in! People can hurt me all they want, but I am not going to sit back and let someone hurt me anymore!! I am going to be who I am and be proud of who I am!!
Lyrics that stand out!!
What lyrics stood out to me? There are several lyrics that pop out to me! For example, there is a lyric that goes "There's no when you gotta choose a side". When I think about that lyric, you should never have to choose side between a family member or anyone else for that matter! No one should ever have to be put in the middle because I know how that feels! Another lyric that stands out to me is "There's no grey there's only black and white". I feel like we should treat everyone equally and unfortunately, people don't know how to treat people equally because people treat people based on how they see that person which is not fair for that person! The 3rd lyric that stands out to me is "right foot lifted, left foot chained". You have one foot chained but the other foot is free but you feel like you are stuck and you don't know what to do and that's hard for you to go through! The final lyric that stands out to me is "To be heard you're gonna risk your life". You gotta take risks and to be heard, you have to let people know that if you want to hear me, I am going to do something and for me, if no one can't hear me, I am going to try my best to yell until someone hears me! I know what it is like to not be heard! It hurts to know when someone doesn't hear me, I feel like I am being ignored and that's hard for me!! You should never have to feel ignored!!
Why?
Why did those lyrics stood out to me? The reason why the 1st lyric stood out to me is because when you have been put in the middle, you are thinking to yourself "I shouldn't have to go through this". You should never have to pick a side because I know that feeling! The 2nd reason why the 2nd lyric stood out to me is because everyone should be treated equally the same but unfortunately, that's not the case because people are so mean and cruel these days and I believe that people should be treated equally, not wrong! The 3rd reason why the 3rd lyric stood out to me is because when you have one foot chained and the other foot is free, you feel like something is holding you back and you should never have to feel like something is holding you back because you are much stronger that and you have to show whatever it is holding back how strong you are and you should never give up! The 4th and final reason why the 4th lyric stood out to me is because in life, we should always take risks and we should never be afraid! Never be afraid of taking risks! Do what you love and never be afraid to do anything that you love!!
In conclusion/ Tip of the day!!
In conclusion, this song holds a special place in my heart! We should never have something or someone try to chain one foot but not the other! People can hold you back without realizing it that they are holding you back but you need to speak up for yourself instead of someone else doing it for you! Never be afraid to use your voice because God gave you a voice for a reason and you should use it for people to hear you! Don't let anyone tell you what to do because you are your own person and you should never listen to others unless there your parents, listen to your parents because they know what's best for you! Don't let strangers tell you what to do or don't let them bring you down because you are much better than that! Here is today's tip of the day: For today's tip of the day, treat people with kindness because there are people who will treat other people with no kindness at all and people will discriminate others because of their skin color or even where they are from which is sad! Please, be kind to others and don't discriminate others! Treat others how you want to be treated!
